One farmer, who struggled with many difficulties, had some horses to help with the work on his small farm. One day his foreman brought word that one of the horses had fallen into an old abandoned well.
The pit was very deep and it would be extremely difficult to get the horse out of there. The farmer quickly went to the scene of the accident, assessed the situation, making sure that the animal had not been injured. But because of the difficulty and high cost of removing it from the deep end, it felt that it was not worth investing in the rescue operation. He then made the difficult decision: He ordered the foreman to sacrifice the animal by throwing dirt into the well until he was buried right there.
And so it was done: The servants, led by the foreman, began to throw dirt into the hole to cover the horse. But as the earth fell on its back, the animal shook it and it accumulated deep, allowing the horse to rise.
The men soon realized that the horse would not be buried, but instead was rising as the earth filled the well until it finally came out!
